A MUST DO TOUR We are born and bred Melbournians and loved every minute of this secret life that Melbourne hides from our very eyes! Monqiue was marvelous, friendly and engaging and we really enjoyed the history she gave us. Vegemite on toast, old art deco buildings, graffiti, lane-way fashion stores, underground train stations with history (sadly history to be demolished in new constructions), coffee - oh Melbourne coffee; dumplings, pies, what more could you want? Definitely wear comfy shoes as you stand and walk a fair bit. But love this city we call home.
We loved the Melbourne Foodie walking tour! We got to try a lot of awesome foods and drinks and they did an amazing job of accomodating my celiac disease, I still felt like I got my money's worth! The Macarons were the best I have EVER had, the coffee was delightful and I ended up buying a lot of awesome treats to bring home from many of the shops we visited. Our guide was lovely and we were lucky enough to be the only two people on the tour so we got to spend extra time in the places we liked the most. MUST DO!
The selection of sampling’s is very good, from dumplings to macaroons. The selected restaurants are in close proximity to one another and information about the area is very interesting. None of the foods were Wow” experience, but they were all very good.
A total RIFF-OFF and one of the worst tours I have gone food wise. It was very expensive for what we got and should have been 1/2 the price as the food was cheap and nasty. Although the tour guide Monique was extremely knowledgeable, the food on the tour was cheap and nondescript and a disgrace to Melbourne. (Melbourne is the food capital of Australia). Firstly if you wanted to serve something Australian - you will bundle up vegemite and meat pie in one go not offer it as 2 tastings. It was a cheap shot. There should be tastings of multicultural cuisine like Italian etc instead of just Chinese dumplings. Instead of going to a macaroon shop you could stop for coffee and cake. Very poor. The guide was excellent just the quality of the food and the tastings. You could even widen the area.
What a sensational tour around some of Melbournes popular hot spots. Our tour guide Monique was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Melbourne’s laneways, buildings and hidden bars. We were shown where to find a good coffee and superb food, to-die-for chocolates, desserts, honeys and teas. All made with move from Melbournes finest locals. Do yourselves a favour and book this tour. We too away with us a taste of what this fabulous city has to offer. Food, fashion, history, a great coffee, ‘rockn’ bars, wonderful conversations and meeting new people. Thank you Monique for looking after us in great style!!!!
Was a perfect tour for us, me Melbourne raised and friend from the UK both introduced to delicious eateries, tastings, hidden laneways and interesting Melbourne history. Monique has created a relaxed informative walk. So pleased we discovered her tour it was good to meet a person who is passionate about Melbourne and the small but excellent businesses she introduced us too.
